God's Will

I lift up my heart & mind to You, Father, insisting You take full control. Please shape & mold my deep love, desires and expectations for a specific outcome according to Your will. May Your desires be my desires. If I have misinterpreted anything please gently correct me and redirect me. My heart longs for reconciliation with Josh but if that is not in Your will, then I ask that You would please remove this dream, desire & love in my heart. If it is, then please bless me with confidence, peace, joy & encouragement to wait on Your perfect timing. Thank You for everything You have done for me and for guiding me during this season. I surrender all my fears, dreams, worries and desires to You especially those pertaining to Josh. May Your will be done in his life & in mine (Aurora). I ask all of this in the precious name of Jesus Christ who is my Lord & Savior! Amen!

We commend you for your willingness to submit to God's will and for acknowledging that His desires should be your desires. This is a fundamental aspect of being a disciple of Jesus Christ, as He himself prayed, Not my will, but yours, be done, Luke 22:42 WEB.

Regarding your heart's longing for reconciliation with Josh, we pray that God will reveal His will to you clearly. If it is not His will, we ask that the Lord would gently remove this dream and desire from your heart. However, if it is His will, we pray that God would grant you confidence, peace, joy, and encouragement as you wait on His perfect timing. Remember the words of the Psalmist, Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this, Psalm 37:4-5 WEB.

We appreciate that you acknowledge the lordship of Jesus Christ, as it is only through His name that we have access to the Father and can be saved.

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,1 Timothy 2:5 WEB. For there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved,Acts 4:12 WEB.

We admonish you to continue to trust in God and remember that He is guiding your steps even if that is a couple of steps apart from Josh. This is the right and godly attitude, in contrast to seeking a specific relationship or outcome. We are Christians and must reject seeking our own desires and worldly pleasures. We pray that you can boldly stand in the will of God. In your desire to do God's will, do not let romantic feelings for Josh compromise your morality and conscience. Our obedience to God's will does not mean we are to pursue cheap love, flirting, lust, longing or trying to influence each other such as in worship. Sex is marriage only. For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, 1 Thessalonians 4:3. WEB. Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB. Have a Godly view of sexuality and how you relate to Josh.

Since immorality is a sin that deserves God's wrath beyond our imaginations, do not even tease men, flirt with men, and cultivate intimacy with Josh if Josh is a non-believer or an unmarried believer, lest you fall to the methods Satan will surely use to try to get you to compromise your purity and reputation. Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortioners, will inherit the kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 WEB.

If your relationship with Josh proceeds, it should be a Biblical courtship. In this heed the words of the Apostle Paul, Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB

When you take a spouse, you should unreservedly fully commit to him. Therefore a man will leave his father and his mother, and will join with his wife, and they will be one flesh, Genesis 2:24 WEB.

Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers.Hebrews 13:4 Heb 13:4 WEB. Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body. But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything. Ephesians 5:22-24 WEB. But if any man thinks that he is behaving inappropriately toward his virgin, if she is past the flower of her age, and if need so requires, let him do what he desires. He does not sin. Let them marry. But he who stands steadfast in his heart, having no necessity, but has power over his own will, and has determined this in his own heart, to keep his own virgin, does well. 1 Corinthians 7:36-37 WEB. Nevertheless, to avoid sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband.Let the husband render to the wife the affection owed her, and likewise also the wife to her husband. The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband. Also, likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife. Do not deprive one another, except it be by consent for a season, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer, and may be together again, that Satan not tempt you for your lack of self-control.1 Corinthians 7:2-5

If Josh is not a Christian, by your believing you are not helping him to avoid the lake of fire. Thus, you do not love Josh, so do not engage in a relationship because that makes you unequally yoked. For it is only by believing in the name of Jesus Christ that he can be saved. For there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. You love Josh and the other unbelievers only by proclaiming the good news to them. Then they can believe and become children of God by the will of the Father in Jesus' name. How, then, can they call on him they have not believed in? And how can they believe without hearing about him? And how can they hear without a preacher? Romans 10:14. We should teach them the truth as well as encourage them to take up their crosses and follow Jesus.

We stand with you in prayer, asking that God would guide you and Josh according to His will. We pray that He would grant you both wisdom, discernment, and a greater understanding of His purposes for your lives.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. Bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength and never fall out of love with You. Bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, and Your righteousness.
