A quick message for all cities.
I can't think of one prophet "of God," who came with a message of warning, that was readily received. Not even Jesus. Especially not Jesus. The only one who was ready to act upon the prophet’s warning was David, and that’s only because he thought Nathan was prophesying about somebody else. BUT GOD must’ve softened David's heart because in listening and heeding Nathan's warning, David turned to God in prayerful repentance. Perhaps that's one of the reasons God called him "A man after Mine own heart."
God's ways are truly not like ours. Since this city, once again, had refused to listen to me, or even to God, for that matter, in my retreat from this forum God literally caused this city to speak over herself. Whereas I was thinking 3 1/2 years exile, many, in demanding that I speak smooth things, have called Jeremiah 29:11 upon their own land. Jeremiah 29:11 comes with 70 years of exile. When you refuse to hear Him, sometimes God will lead you into the temptation of your own conceits, and give you what you demand.
Noteworthy: God never told Jeremiah to pray for the peace and prosperity of the city. In fact He told Jeremiah the exact opposite, He said "Do not pray for these people." God told Jeremiah to instruct the survivors, whose city He had destroyed because of idolatry, to pray for the peace and prosperity of the cities whereto they had been scattered. But, the false prophets, Hananiah and Shamiah, the ones who accused Jeremiah of being a false prophet, and even sought to have him put to death, were deemed false by God because they slept with their neighbor's wives, tried to steal other peoples' positions and ministries, and taught in err that repentance was not necessary.
Whereas a city often chooses to do things her way; God will always have His way. We must be careful whose counsel we follow. For though there be a multitude thereof, if it counsels against God's Word, it is wicked.
