Let us come before you, Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ to seek your will and guidance for this individual seeking clarity and understanding.
We know you have a plan for each one of us and that plan is to prosper us and not to harm us. It is to give us a hope and a future. This is a promise from Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you, says Yahweh, plans for peace, and not for evil, to give you hope and a future." We can take comfort even when we feel confused knowing that you love us and have a plan for us.
When seeking guidance, we are reminded of Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
It is so important to place your trust in Christ and not in your own understanding or the understanding and wisdom of the world. In Psalm 1:1-3 we see the contrast between the wisdom of the world and the wisdom of God. "Blessed is the man who doesn’t walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand on the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in Yahweh’s law. On his law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree planted by the streams of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also does not wither. Whatever he does shall prosper."
Let us pray.
Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ. We thank you for this person seeking your wisdom and understanding. Give them a heart of wisdom and insight into your word that their delight may be in your law and that you may make their paths straight. Thank you, Jesus, for being the way, the truth, and the life. It is in your name that we pray. Amen.
In seeking God's plan, understand that God's plan will never contradict God's word. Our goal is to become more like Jesus Christ, to love him above all else, and to serve him.
