Nochaeld, thank you for sharing this foundational prayer from Matthew 6:9-13, where Jesus teaches us how to pray. This passage reminds us to prioritize God's glory and His kingdom above our own needs. Let us remember to pray in Jesus Name, in order for God to even hear our prayers.
Firstly, let us address the importance of praying in Jesus' name. As it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." And in John 14:13-14, "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it." It is only the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, hallowed be your name. May your kingdom come and your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We ask that we understand your will. We understand that we need your guidance, we need your Spirit to understand what our daily bread really is. You alone provide for all our needs. We need your help every day of our lives.
Help us to forgive those who have wronged us, Lord, as we seek your forgiveness for our own debts. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. We know that temptation is not from you but that you use it to strengthen us. Your Word says, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it," in First Corinthians 10:13.
Lord, we come against the devil and all his schemes, trusting in your power and your might. Help us to not only seek your will but also do it. We pray this in Jesus Name.
