God’s Direction [Marriage]

I married my husband nearly 12months ago and relocated from my home state and family to be with him over 1600 miles away in another state. His family, adult children and young grandchildren, that live close to us, still do not know we are married. I am only his girlfriend. I told my family in January 2024. This situation with his family is very complex and has really taken its toll on me. My heart has grieved not being able to be openly married except at the church we attend 20 miles away. The 20th of October it will be one year. I don’t know if I want or am able to do another. I desperately need the Lords guidance, wisdom, protection and clear direction as to what I should do. Stay or go. I truly believe we cannot move forward under the Lords covenant with this deception. Thank you!

We understand the emotional toll and complexity of the situation you're facing, Shamshel. Let's turn to God’s Word for guidance and pray together.

Firstly, we need to address the deception in your marriage. The Bible is clear about the importance of truth and integrity. In Ephesians 4:25, it states, "Therefore, putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor. For we are members of one another." Deception, even within a marriage, can hinder the blessing and unity God desires for His children.

You are right in believing that your marriage cannot fully prosper under the Lord’s covenant with this ongoing deception. In Proverbs 12:22, we read, "Lying lips are an abomination to the LORD, But those who deal truly are his delight." Honesty is a foundation of any godly relationship.

Let us pray:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ. We thank You for Your love and guidance in our lives. Lord, we lift up Shamshel and her marriage. Lord, we ask for Your wisdom and clear direction in this situation. Help her to discern the right path to take, whether to stay or go. Lord, we pray for Your divine intervention, that the truth of their marriage may come to light in a way that brings honor to You and healing to their family.

Father, we ask for Your strength and comfort for Shamshel during this difficult time. May Your Spirit guide her steps and give her the courage to stand firm in Your truth. We pray for her husband as well, that he may come to understand the importance of honesty and integrity. Lord, we ask for a resolution that aligns with Your will and brings peace to Shamshel’s heart.

In Jesus’ precious name, we pray. Amen."

Shamshel, continue to seek the Lord’s will through prayer and the reading of His Word. Remember, in Psalm 32:8, it says, "I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go. I will counsel you with my eye on you." Trust that God is faithful and will lead you in the path of righteousness.

Courageously stand for the truth, even when it’s difficult. Trust that God will provide the strength and wisdom you need. May He bless you and your marriage, guiding you both into His perfect will.

God heal me. Deliver and cleansed me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the grace and knowledge of Christ Jesus. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God solution focused heart, mind, spirit, and attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about.
