'God's Children' - John 8:44-47

[To the Jews, Jesus continued,] "For you are the children of your father the devil... So when I tell the truth, you just naturally don't believe me! Which of you can truthfully accuse me of sin? And since I am telling you the truth, why don't you believe me? Anyone who belongs to God listens gladly to the words of God. But you don't listen because you don't belong to God."

Key Thought​

God is the true Father of all people who look to his Son for their salvation. They listen to Jesus and do what he says. The faithful are not simply those on a list of notable people who have lived for Jesus in spectacular ways. No, the litmus test for all of us as children of God is this: Do we live what Jesus teaches?

Today's Prayer​

Father God, please help my discipleship involve the way I live all of my life, not just my language at prayer time. Please forgive me for sometimes letting my discipleship and passion for Jesus not make it past my prayer time. Empower me as I seek to show my love for you in the way I live my life. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.

[The Encourager]

 

[Rizakar]

The shop I go to to get my nails done is full of people from the Phillipines and they speak English but every time I try to talk to them about Jesus they just smile and ignor me. I know they do not know him because they have an idol at the front of the shop and they surround this thing with fruit and it bothers me so bad but the Lord keeps telling me to keep going and reaching out. I have looked for gosple tracts in that language but am unable to even order them even at the local Christian store which closed recently would you believe?

But I am praising the Lord because the girl that does my nails her husband does the pedicures and so I ask him yesterday if he knew Jesus and he said which surprised me yes and he said the apartment they live in with their two little babies he kept feeling he needed to check the front door and when he did he caught someone trying to break in. I was so happy to hear he associated that with Jesus helping them it still makes me cry every time I think about it but it makes me know someone there in that shop does not know Jesus because of the idol and it may be his wife because she will not let me talk to her about Jesus at all in fact it acts like it makes her mad. Please pray they may all come to know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior I pray in Jesus Holy Name. Amen.
