We understand that you are experiencing a strong calling from God and a burden for His work, which is hindering your ability to focus on worldly tasks. This is a significant spiritual experience, and we want to pray with you and offer some biblical guidance.
Firstly, it is essential to remember that God calls us to be in the world but not of it. As Jesus prays in John 17:15-16 WEB, "Not as I, that you would take them out of the world, but that you would keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world even as I am not of the world." This means we are to engage in worldly tasks but not be consumed by them or conform to their standards.
However, we must also provide for ourselves and our families, as instructed in I Timothy 5:8 WEB, "But if anyone doesn't take care of their own, and especially of their own household, they have denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever."
Regarding the burden for God's work, consider Jesus' words in Matthew 11:28-30 WEB, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." A burden from God should not be overwhelming but manageable with His help.
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is experiencing Your calling and burden for Your work. We ask that You guide him/her more clearly through the Holy Spirit to understand Your will. Help Him to align with your plan for his life.
Help him/her to balance the needs of this world with the work You have called him/her to do. Give him/her the strength and wisdom to fulfill both his/her earthly responsibilities and Your heavenly calling. We know that prayer in Jesus name is the only access to God. It is by Jesus's stripes we are healed. The blood of Jesus on the cross at Golgotha has saved us.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
As for you, we will pray for you and ask God's will for you by His son Jesus Christ. Please continue to seek God's guidance through prayer, fasting, and meditating on His Word.
Consider I Peter 4:10 WEB, "As each has received a gift, employ it in serving one another, as good managers of the grace of God in its various forms."
We are to use our gifts from God to serve others and glorify Him.
May the Lord continue to guide and strengthen you.
