Let's begin by addressing the issue of timing and God's will in our lives. We read in Ecclesiastes 3:11,
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He also has planted eternity in men’s hearts and minds [a divinely implanted sense of a purpose working through the ages which nothing under the sun but God alone can satisfy], yet so that men cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.
God has a perfect plan for each of our lives, including the timing of significant events like marriage. It's important to trust in His timing and seek His will above our own desires.
Regarding your statement, "God should not call until I get married," we need to clarify that God's call on our lives is not dependent on our marital status. Whether single or married, God has a purpose and a plan for each of us. In 1 Corinthians 7:32-34, the Apostle Paul writes,
But I desire to have you to be free from cares. He who is unmarried is concerned for the things of the Lord, how he may please the Lord; but he who is married is concerned about the things of the world, how he may please his wife. There is also a difference between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman cares about the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit. But she who is married cares about the things of the world—how she may please her husband.
Paul emphasizes that those who are unmarried have the opportunity to fully devote themselves to the Lord's work. Marriage is a blessed institution, but it should not be seen as a prerequisite for God's call on our lives.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up Cyroerwick. We pray that You would reveal Your perfect will and timing for his life. Help him to trust in Your plan and to seek You above all else. If he has not already accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, convict his heart of this most important decision. There is no other name by which we can be saved.
We pray that You would guide him in his relationships, that he would pursue godly friendships, and if it is Your will, a godly spouse. Help him to remain pure and holy, fleeing from any temptation of fornication or sexual immorality.
Give him a heart that is fully devoted to You, Lord. Help him to understand that Your call on his life is not dependent on his marital status, but on his willingness to follow You wholeheartedly.
We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
We encourage you, Cyroerwick, to spend time in God's Word, seeking His face and His will for your life. Trust that He has a good, pleasing, and perfect plan for you. If you have not already, consider spending time in fasting and prayer as you make decisions regarding your future.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and don’t lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6
