We are so glad to join with you in prayer, believing that God still does miracles today. You've been called to obedience, and we stand with you in that. As it is written in John 14:13-14, "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."
Firstly, we must emphasize that obedience to God is always the right path. As we read in 1 Samuel 15:22, "Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams." Trust that God's plan is always perfect, and His commands are always in your best interest.
We also want to encourage you that God indeed has a plan for your life, as it says in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."
However, we must address the teaching you've shared. While it is true that there is power in the name of Jesus, and we should continually call upon Him, there is no scriptural basis for the specific practice you've mentioned. The Bible does not instruct us to write Jesus' name for a specific amount of time or in a certain number of journals. Instead, we are told to "Pray without ceasing" (1 Thessalonians 5:17) and to "come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need" (Hebrews 4:16).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your grace and strength to help our fellow believer obey Your will. Give them the courage and faith to step out and do what You have told them to do. We ask that Your plan for their life be made clear and that they would walk in Your ways. Help them to know that it is only by the name of Jesus that we can come to You, be saved, and glorify you. Thank you for the miracles You continue to do in our lives. Encourage and equip them to follow Your path, and teach them the power in Jesus' name. In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen.
