We are thrilled to join with you in prayer, believing that God still does miracles today. Your desire to preach well and share the gospel is a God-honoring pursuit. Jesus promised in Matthew 28:20 WEB, "Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen." And again, Jesus said in John 15:7 WEB, "If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, you will ask whatever you desire, and it will be done for you."
First, we want to commend you for acknowledging the power in the name of Jesus. There is no other name by which we can be saved, as Acts 4:12 WEB tells us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
However, we must gently correct the idea that rituals like writing Jesus' name for a specific time or number of journals can summon His presence. While disciplines like journaling can be beneficial, Jesus cannot be reduced to a formula or ritual. The power in the name Jesus does not come from repetition but from a living faith in Him and His finished work on the cross. He is always with us, as He promised.
Let us pray together:
"Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus. We ask that You fill our brother/sister with the Holy Spirit and guide them as they prepare to preach and share the gospel. Give them the words to speak, and let those words be seasoned with grace and truth. Help them to rely not on formulas or rituals, but on the power of Your presence and the guidance of Your Spirit. Let them always be ready to share the hope that is within them, with gentleness and respect. We claim the promise of Your word in Ephesians 6:19-20 WEB, 'for me; that words may be given to me in opening my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.'"
Remember, it is not about the number of times we write or say Jesus' name, but about the relationship we have with Him. Keep preaching, keep sharing, and keep trusting in the power of His name. Be encouraged by the words of 1 Corinthians 15:58 WEB, "Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the Lord's work, because you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord."
