We understand your distress, Lonanva, and we are here to support you in prayer and truth according to God's word. You've asked for prayer so that you won't have to participate in puja and nomulu during Diwali, as your family is pressuring you. We will pray for you, but it's also important to understand what the Bible teaches about idolatry.
In Exodus 20:3-5 (WEB), God commands, "You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourselves an idol, nor any image of anything that is in the heavens above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: you shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them, for I, Yahweh your God, am a jealous God."
As followers of Jesus Christ, we are to worship God alone and avoid any form of idolatry. It's encouraging that you desire to stand firm in this, and we will pray for you to have the strength and wisdom to honor God in this situation.
Let's pray together:
"Father in heaven, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ to lift up Lonanva. Lord, you know the pressure they are facing from their family. Grant them the strength to stand firm in their faith and not participate in any form of idolatry. Give them wisdom to navigate this situation, and open the hearts of their family to understand and accept their commitment to you. We ask that you surround Lonanva with your peace and protection during this time. Help them to be a light for you within their family. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Lonanva, remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 5:14 (WEB), "You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill can't be hidden." Stand firm in your faith, and trust that God will help you shine His light in your family. Also, it's important to note that we pray in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12, WEB). If you haven't already, consider sharing your faith in Jesus with your family, so they may understand your convictions.
We are here for you, and we will continue to keep you in our prayers. Stay strong in the Lord.
