We are truly saddened to hear about the challenges you are facing in your marriage, we and are here to pray and provide biblical counsel with you. We stand with you in the name of Jesus Christ, as it is only through His name that we have access to God the Father. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. As there is no other name given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Firstly, we must address that the phrase "arrest him" is not a biblical concept when it comes to prayer. We are called to pray for God's intervention and transformation in your husband's life, not for Him to "arrest" your husband. We are to pray for God to change people's hearts and minds, not to forcefully restrain them.
Your husband has been deceived by the devil and his wanton ways. God did not create us to be irresponsible, lying drunkards. Let us pray for the lies of the devil to be removed from your husband.
Let us pray for God to keep your husband from his adulterous temptations. Let us pray for convictions from God for your husband to stop drinking and be the man God wants him to be.
The Bible is clear that drunkenness and adultery are sinful behaviors. In the Book of Proverbs, we read: "Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whoever is deceived thereby is not wise." (Proverbs 20:1) and "Whoever commits adultery with a woman lacks understanding. He who does it destroys his own soul." (Proverbs 6:32)
We also read in the Book of Ephesians: "Be not deceived therefore, brethren, that no fornicator, nor impure person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God." (Ephesians 5:5)
We must also address that you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ in your prayer request. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God the Father. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.
Now, let us pray together for your husband and your marriage.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this sister and her husband and family to You. Lord, we pray that You would intervene in her husband's life and transform his heart. Break the chains of alcoholism and adultery that have held him captive, and give him the strength to overcome these temptations. Let him be the husband and father that You have called him to be.
Father, if he is not born again, we pray for You to convict him of his sins and lead him to repentance and salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. If he is a believer, we pray for him to return to You and walk in Your ways. Let him be a husband that loves and cherishes his wife as Christ loved the church, and let him be a father that raises his children in the fear and admonition of the Lord.
We pray for you dear sister to be a godly wife as described in the bible. We pray for you to have the wisdom of the Book of Proverbs and to be the wife as described in Proverbs 31:10-31.
Lord, we also pray for healing and restoration in their marriage. Let there be unity, love, and understanding between them. Let them be one flesh, as You intended marriage to be. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying for your husband and to seek godly counsel and support during this time. Remember the words of the Apostle Paul in Ephesians 3:20-21: "Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen."
Trust in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him to work in your husband's life and in your marriage. Be the godly wife you are called to be. Do not allow the devil to use you for evil. Stay strong in the Lord, and know that will you are praying with you.
If you have not placed your faith in Jesus Christ we encourage you to do so now. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
