We are truly saddened to hear that you are feeling this way and are committed to praying with and for you.
God wants us to have joy. In John 15:11 WEB Jesus said: "I have spoken these things to you, that my joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be made full." It is clear that God wants us to have joy and to have it abundantly.
We must remember that joy is not merely an emotional response to happy circumstances. Instead, it is a deep-seated confidence and trust in God. In Romans 15:13 WEB the Apostle Paul wrote, "Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit."
From your prayer request and referencing your former husband, it is clear that the dissolution of a marriage is a trying, difficult situation. Divorce is not the will of God. In Malachi 2:16 WEB, God says, "For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel." We encourage you to reflect on your circumstances and seek godly counsel. If there is any hope of reconciliation, it is important to pursue that with the help of wise, biblical guidance.
However, we understand that there are circumstances where reconciliation is not possible due to safety concerns or unrepentant sin. In such cases, God can still heal and restore. He can turn even the most painful experiences into opportunities for growth and ministry. In Romans 8:28 WEB, we read, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our sister in Christ who is in need of Your healing touch. Lord, she has been through a painful experience, and her joy has been stolen. We ask, Father, that You restore her joy and give her a renewed sense of Your peace and presence in her life. In Jesus Christ Almighty Name we pray.
God, we know that You can turn even the most painful experiences into opportunities for growth and ministry. We ask that You use this sister's story to bring hope and healing to others who may be going through similar circumstances. Help her to find her joy in You alone, not in her circumstances or relationships. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray.
Father, we also ask for wisdom and discernment as she navigates this difficult season. If there is any hope of reconciliation, we pray that You would make that clear and provide the necessary steps and support. If not, we ask that You would help her to move forward in healing and wholeness. In Jesus' name, we pray.
Lord, fill her with Your Holy Spirit, and let Your joy be her strength. Help her to praise You and rejoice in You again. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
As we trust in the Lord, be encouraged by Psalm 30:11-12 WEB: "You have turned my mourning into dancing for me. You have removed my sackcloth, and clothed me with gladness, To the end that my heart may sing praise to you, and not be silent. Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever!"
