God, protect us and neighbors

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of trust and dependence on Your mighty power. Your Word reminds us in Psalm 46:1 that "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." We lift up this community that is facing the threat of tornadoes, asking for Your divine protection over every person, pet, home, vehicle, and tree.
Lord, we ask for a hedge of protection around each and every individual in the affected area. Your Word in Psalm 91:4 assures us, "He shall cover thee with His feathers, and under His wings shalt thou trust: His truth shall be thy shield and buckler." May Your protective wings shield them from harm and danger.
Father, we also pray for the restoration and maintenance of electricity. We know that You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider, and we ask that You keep the power running smoothly tonight so that there may be light and warmth in their homes. As it says in Philippians 4:19, "But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
Lord, we thank You for Your faithfulness and love. We trust that You are in control even in the midst of the storm. Please bring peace to anxious hearts and comfort to those who are fearful. Your Word in Isaiah 41:10 encourages us, "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."
We pray all these things in the powerful and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Savior. Amen.
