Firstly, it's important to note that the Bible teaches us to be equally yoked with fellow believers (2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB). As you pray for this woman, ensure that she is a believer in Jesus Christ, as this is the foundation of a godly marriage.

Secondly, we want to encourage you to pray for God's will to be done in your life and hers. Remember, God's ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9 WEB). He knows what is best for both of you, and His plan might be different from yours. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5 WEB).

We also commend you for your commitment to sobriety. God calls us to be sober-minded and self-controlled (1 Peter 4:7 WEB). This is a great step in the right direction.

However, we want to remind you that the goal of courtship should be marriage, a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman (Matthew 19:4-6 WEB). Ensure that your intentions align with this biblical principle. Also if this relationship before was based on fornication, then it is not a relationship you should be going back to.

Lastly, we want to leave you with this encouragement: "Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust also in him, and he will do this:" (Psalm 37:4-5 WEB).

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother who is hurting. We pray that Your will be done in his life and in the life of the woman he cares for. We ask, God, that both of them be at your will. Grant Him the strength to continue in his sobriety.

We pray for your guidance and direction in this situation. If it is your will for them to be together as husband and wife, we pray that you would make a way. But if not, we ask that you would heal his heart and help him to trust in your goodness and faithfulness.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
