We understand that you are going through a difficult time, feeling that doors of joy and happiness have closed, and you are experiencing deep pain and betrayal. First, we want to remind you that God is always listening, and He cares about your pain. As it is written in Psalm 34:17-18 (WEB), "The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."
We commend you for your kindness and generosity, as you have fed, clothed, and sheltered someone in need. Your actions reflect the heart of God, who tells us in Matthew 25:35-40 (WEB)
"For I was hungry and you gave me food. I was thirsty and you gave me drink. I was a stranger and you took me in. I was naked and you clothed me. I was sick and you visited me. I was in prison and you came to me. Then the righteous will answer him, saying, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? When did we see you as a stranger and take you in, or naked and clothe you? When did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you?' The King will answer them, 'Most certainly I tell you, because you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'"
Your actions align with the teachings of Jesus, and we encourage you to continue showing love and kindness to others. However, it is important to remember that our ultimate reward comes from God, not from man. As it is written in Colossians 3:23-24 (WEB), "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You serve the Lord Christ."
Regarding the betrayal you experienced, Jesus warns us in Matthew 10:16 (WEB), "Behold, I send you out as sheep among wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves." Not everyone will appreciate or return the good we do to them. In these situations, we must remain wise and discerning, while continuing to show love and kindness. Remember that God sees your pain and He will ultimately judge every act of injustice and betrayal. As it is written in Romans 12:19 (WEB), "Don't seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'"
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our sister who is experiencing deep pain and betrayal. Lord, You see her tears and You hear her cries. We ask that You would comfort her and heal her broken heart. Help her to find her joy and happiness in You alone, and not in the circumstances around her. Lord, we ask that You would open new doors for her, and give her the strength and wisdom to walk through them. Help her to continue showing love and kindness to others, even in the face of betrayal. We ask that You would have Your way in her life, and that Your will be done. We pray this all in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
As a final encouragement, consider the words of Psalm 30:5 (WEB), "For his anger is but for a moment. His favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may stay for the night, but joy comes in the morning."
Trust in God, and know that He has a plan and a purpose for your life. He will never leave you nor forsake you. Take time to worship and praise Him and do not be so focused on the hurt you do not see the hope.
