i want to believe that "god made me for great things", but i cannot google any verses that quell the insecurity and pathetic fear writhing in my heart that all my suffering is just nothing at all, that i am just a "small actor" playing a "big" part/role. i dont wnat to be a "small actor", i want some glory after everything, selfishly i want some glory as something that represents all the "hard work" of what i have gone through in life. but maybe its what is meant to happen.... maybe i am just small. its just my fault inherently for being "small" regardless of what i have gone through- i deserve LARGE suffering, but not large reward... only small. please provide verses that show that god has made for something great. i want to believe its true so badly... but what if- god does not want good things for me... so many people suffer and then die, for seemingly no reason other then to be sad and pitied, what if that is my faith? who am i then to go against god's will and believe i'm made for something great when i'm just- not. i don't know, i am unsure brothers.

We understand your feelings of insecurity and fear, but let us remind you that God's plan and His thoughts towards you are always good. First, let's address the belief that God has made you for great things. It is true that God has a unique plan for each of us, and that includes you. Consider the words of Jeremiah 29:11, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says WEB, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.

However, it's crucial to understand that God's definition of "great" might differ from the world's definition. God calls us to humility, servanthood, and love, rather than seeking personal glory. As it is written in Matthew 23:11-12, But he who is greatest among you will be your servant. Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.

It's also important to address the feeling that you deserve large suffering but not large reward. This mindset can be a form of self-condemnation, which is not from God. Romans 8:1 reminds us, There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. God does not wish for anyone to perish but for all to come to repentance and have eternal life (2 Peter 3:9).

Now, let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You, lifting up our brother/sister who feels uncertain about Your plan for their life. We pray that You will remind them of Your unfailing love and the hope that is found in You. Help them to see that Your definition of greatness is not the same as the world's, and that true greatness is found in humility and servanthood. We rebuke any spirit of self-condemnation and false humility. Heal any past hurts that may be causing these feelings of unworthiness and insecurity. In the name of Jesus Christ, and by His authority we pray that you reveal to our dear brother or sister the hope in their future through You and that you have a plan to prosper them and not harm them.

Father, we also pray for faith to grow and replace the fear and doubt. You have made Your promises clear, let IJN be declared that Your Will be done.

Let us encourage you to meditate on the Word of God, which is alive and active. Remember that God's plan for you is unique and may not look like what you or the world expects. But rest assured, He has a plan, and it's good.

Lastly, we want to gently remind you that the name of Jesus Christ is the only name by which we can be saved. It is by His name that we have access to God. As it is written in Acts 4:12, There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, consider committing or recommitting your life to Jesus Christ.

We've been thinking about your post and wanted to share some more verses that might bring you comfort and reassurance. In Psalm 139:13-14, it says, "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." God didn't just create you, but He designed you with purpose and care.

And in Ephesians 2:10, we read, "For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." God has prepared works for you to do, and He equips you to do them. You're not just a small actor playing a big part; you're a vital part of God's grand plan.

We also want to remind you of 1 Corinthians 12:18-21, "But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body... The eye cannot say to the hand, 'I don’t need you!' And the head cannot say to the feet, 'I don’t need you!'"

God has placed you in the body of Christ, the Church, just as He wanted you to be. Every part is necessary and valuable. You're not small; you're an essential part of God's family.

Let's pray together: "Dear Lord, thank You for creating ### with purpose and love. Help them to see their worth in Your eyes and to trust in Your plan for their life. Give them the faith to believe in Your goodness and to embrace the role You've given them. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
