Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today in prayer, giving thanks for everything you have done for us. We acknowledge that you already know what is weighing heavy on our hearts, and we trust that you are aware of our concerns. We humbly place all these burdens at the foot of the cross, knowing that you are able to carry them for us.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Philippians 4:6 reminds us, "Be careful for nothing; but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God." We thank you, Lord, for the privilege of coming to you in prayer and for the peace that surpasses all understanding that you promise to guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus .
May we always remember to approach you with thanksgiving, just as we bring our requests before you. Help us to cultivate a heart of gratitude and to continually return thanks for the blessings you have already granted us. We desire to be like Jesus, who bore the names of His people on His breast and shoulders as their High Priest before you.
We also pray for the Church, that our prayers would enlarge our sympathies and expand our hearts. May our prayers be a source of strength and power for the work of extending the gospel. We ask that you would raise up a people who are fervent in prayer, for we know that a praying congregation is a true helper to ministers.
Thank you, Lord, for the privilege of being able to come to you in prayer. We trust that you hear our prayers and that you will answer according to your perfect will. May we always find comfort and peace in casting all our cares upon you, knowing that you are able to carry them for us.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
