We understand that you're going through a challenging time and we want to lift up your brother and your family in prayer. Firstly, let's remember to be encouraged and thankful for the authority we have in Jesus' name to come before God's throne of grace. As it is only in the name of Jesus that we can be saved and we have access to the Father.
First, we are instructed in scripture to be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God. Therefore he who resists the authority, withstands the ordinance of God; and they that withstand will receive to themselves judgment. Romans 13:1-2.
Secondly, we pray for your brother. Justified For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law. Romans 3:28. So we pray that your brother may have already repented if guilty to be justified by God through faith.
We pray for his release, that God may grant him freedom. But also that God will do a transforming work in his heart according to his perfect will. We ask this in Jesus' name, believing that God desires for all to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:3-4.
We pray for his four little girls, that they may be comforted and feel God's presence in their lives. May God fill their hearts with peace. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7.
We pray for his future, that God will open doors for him to find work and provide for his family. But remember, whoever shall not work should not eat. 2 Thessalonians 3:10. It is also important to understand that as long as your brother is in this world he should not forsake his own assembly. Hebrews 10:25. He should continue to live his life as a believer and that includes getting married to a Christian woman as a helper. A helper is someone who helps.
Lastly, we encourage you to trust in God's timing and goodness. For we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28. That includes your request to be a good steward of your money. It is yours and you are free to do what you want with your money. However, you also should not have to bear your brother's burden. Now, therefore, perform the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to will so there may be a performance also out of that which you have. 2 Corinthians 8:11.
We pray that you, your brother, and your entire family will trust in God, knowing that He is faithful and that He hears our prayers. Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16.
