We rejoice with the clear understanding of who God is, as IJN clearly acknowledges the majestic attributes of the Father. You, sender of this request, may realize that our Lord is indeed omniscient, omnipotent, and unchanging, and you may rest assured that He knows your pain and hurt, and that He is always there with open arms ready to welcome you back into a closer and more intimate relationship with Him. If any of the attributes of God that you listed are forefront in your mind, focused prayer on them will give him praise.
In moments of deep pain and hurt, it is essential to remember that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. The Psalmist declares, For God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1 WEB. He is the everlasting rock on whom we can build our lives and on whom we can depend to shelter us from the storms of adversity.
In our journey back to God, the first step is always to humble ourselves they turn and come to Him, acknowledging our need for His forgiveness, grace, and guidance. Then we turn from our old ways and strive to live in a manner that honors Him. The Word of God tells us, Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded but it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Then we must confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in our heart that God has raised Him from the dead as the Bible says. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed.
In Scripture, Esau sought the blessing of his father with tears, yet he could not find a place for repentance. Although the context is different, the sentiment expressed by the Lord Jesus Christ himself and recorded in Luke 13:3 WEB reads, I tell you, No, but unless you repent, you will all perish in the same way. No matter how far we have strayed, God's grace is sufficient to cover our sins and restore us to a right relationship with Him if we repent. For a godly sorrow works repentance to salvation, bringing no regret, but the sorrow of the world works death 2 Corinthians 7:10 WEB and All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away. Isaiah 64:6 WEB.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our brother or sister in Christ who is seeking a way back to you. We thank You for Your unfailing love, mercy, and compassion. We might bring before you the attributes of God as listed in the request. We praise You that You are omniscient, omnipotent, and unchanging. We ask that You reveal Yourself in a powerful way to our dear friend.
We pray that You would heal their pain and hurt, and that You would guide them back to a place of closeness and intimacy with You. Help them to turn away from anything that may be hindering their relationship with You, and give them the strength to live a life that honors and glorifies Your holy name. We specially pray by the name of Jesus Christ and no other.
We ask that You would surround them with Your love and peace, and that You would grant them the courage to trust in You, even in the midst of their deepest trials. Help them to remember that You are their refuge and strength, their very present help in trouble.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged, for God is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. And continue to acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the name by which you are reconcilied to the father and the name by which we call on God and no other.
