We are truly sorry to hear about the loss of your brother and the pain you are experiencing. In this time of grief, we want to remind you of the hope and comfort that Jesus Christ offers. The Bible tells us in Psalm 147:3 that Yahweh heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds.
Firstly, we want to address that prayer and communication to God is only available through Jesus Christ. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that He will listen and answer our requests. Acts 4:12 says And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved.
Regarding prayer to the dead such as 'for the eternal repose of the soul', the Bible in Deuteronomy 18:10-11 says There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer. In the same way, praying to or for the dead is not a biblical principle. Instead, put your hope in Jesus Christ and His completed work on the cross.
We stand with you in prayer:
Father, we lift up Ghtoreirarr to you in this time of loss and mourning. We pray that you would be a very present help in this time of trouble, and that you would comfort and strengthen them by the power of your Holy Spirit. We ask that you would be the lifter of their head and a shield about them. We ask that you would give them everything that they need, physically, emotionally, and spiritually, to get through this difficult time. We pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, who alone can heal their broken heart and give them the hope and strength that they need. Amen.
In this time of grief, draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Psalm 34:18 reminds us that Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. May you find comfort and hope in Jesus Christ during this difficult time.
