We understand that you're struggling with alcoholism and we want you to know that you're not alone in this battle. Firstly we are thankful you have prayed in Jesus' name and recognize that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. It is also only by the name of Jesus that we are saved. Make sure you have put your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. "because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation." (Romans 10:9-10)
God wants us to have freedom and self-control, and He's always ready to help and forgive. He promises, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." (1 Corinthians 10:13).
Put your trust in Jesus and lean on Him for the strength to overcome this addiction. "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." (Matthew 11:28-30).
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our brother who is struggling with alcoholism. We thank You, Father, that he has come to You in the name of Jesus for help. Lord, we ask for Your forgiveness, Your strength, and Your guidance. Help him to overcome this addiction, Lord, and give him the power to resist the temptation. Show him the way out, Lord, and give him the endurance to keep moving forward. May he find comfort in You, Lord, and may Your rest be upon him.
In Jesus' name, we pray, Amen.
Remember, it's important to take practical steps as well. Seek help from Christian brothers and sisters, trusted friends, or professional counselors. They can provide support, encouragement, and advice tailored to your situation. Stay strong in the Lord and keep trusting in Jesus.
