Steven, we understand your concern and agree that God has created each of us uniquely and with a purpose. As it is written in Psalm 139:14, "I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, my soul knows that very well." God did create us as individuals, and it's important to remember that our value and identity are found in Christ, not in conforming to the expectations of others.
We must be mindful of the influence of others and the potential for harm when they try to mold us into something we are not. As it is written in Romans 12:2, "Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God." It's essential to discern God's will for our lives and not merely accept the opinions of others.
While it's important to be open to godly counsel and advice, we must also be wary of those who try to impose their own values or values contrary to scripture onto us. It's crucial to remember that our ultimate authority is God and His word.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in the name of Jesus Christ to lift up Steven. Lord, You have created each of us uniquely and with a purpose, and we celebrate that Steven acknowledges this truth. We ask, Lord, that You would help Steven to be steadfast in his resolve to live authentically and in accordance with Your will. Grant him the strength to resist the pressure to conform to the expectations of others, and instead, to be transformed by the renewing of his mind. Help him find support with other christians seeking to follow God's will.
Lord, we also ask that You would soften the hearts of those who try to impose their own values and we pray for believers in his life that will encourage him to be more Christ like. Open their eyes to the unique qualities that make Steven who he is.
We pray that Steven would continue to grow in his relationship with You, Lord. Help with spiritual guidance in his life.
In Jesus Name we pray, Amen.
Steven, we encourage you to continue seeking God's will for your life and to surround yourself with believers who will encourage and support you in your journey. As it is written in James 3:17, "But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy." (In Jesus Name) Surround yourself with people who exhibit this kind of wisdom, and be wary of those who do not.
If the problem gets worse, it is wise to follow Matthew 5:53-55. "And if you go with your adversee to the magistrate, make an effort to settle with him on the way, lest perhaps he drag you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and the officer throw you into prison.I tell you, you will by no means get out of there, till you have paid the very last mite (greek, lepton, a very small coin)." Therefore if possibly it is good to try to work this out. This may involve talking about Christianity.
