We understand your desire for a godly spouse and we are here to pray with you and provide biblical guidance. We must emphasize our belief in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman who will be faithful to Jesus Christ. However, we should not get ahead of this commitment by thinking of getting married to one. We must first follow Jesus Christ since our relationship with our creator will guide and direct all of our relationships including a courtship with the opposite sex. Remember, "But seek first God's Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well" (WEB Matthew 6:33).
First, since Jesus Christ was not specifically mentioned in this prayer request, we will address this significant oversight. It is only by his name that we have access to God for "There is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" (WEB Acts 4:12). First, we call you to salvation by receiving Jesus Christ for eternal life and the remission of all sins. For "But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God's children, to those who believe in his name:" (WEB John 1:12) and "they said, Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, thou and thy house." (WEB Acts 16:31).
Secondly, we appreciate your desire for a loving and generous husband who will love you the way Christ wants to love his church as described in (WEB Ephesians 5:25). However, we must receive from God His love, and then receive God's will for whom He will possibly select for us. Before we can call another to be our life's mate through courtship, we must find our relationship first in Jesus Christ. Do not seek thy own will in this decision, but set aside your personal desires in this matter that His will may be fulfilled.
So, let us seek God's purpose together in Jesus' name.
Let us pray.
Almighty God, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Thulun to You. We ask that You reveal Your self to Thulun for salvation and ultimately so that Thulun will be selected for a God-honoring marriage by another Christian believer. First, we bring Thulun to Jesus Christ for reconciliation and forgiveness from all sins forever and eternal life. So, we bless you in the name of Jesus Christ knowing "that every knee should bow, of those in heaven, those on earth, and those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." (WEB Philippians 2:10-11).
Father, we call upon You for Thulun to complete a courtship to the God-fearing spouse you have prepared for him or her only after Thulun finds a relationship for life with Jesus Christ, and only so as to glorify and honor You within this marriage. We are grateful for everything Jesus Christ did on the cross for sins and we call for Thulun's salvation now. Lead Thulun the way everlasting. Now, we follow with the whole armor of God and asks Thulun to prayerfully consider someone of the opposite sex of the same values. We know that no matter what differences, we will have nothing in common or purpose without a common value of Jesus Christ in our life. Jesus Christ is important as the central part of our life purpose for "God has shown this to us because He has put eternity into our hearts as part of His purpose that we cannot discern what He has done from the beginning to the end." (WEB Ecclesiastes 3:11, my paraphrase)
Exposing Thulun's heart deepest desires for a life mate when the time is right, help Thulun to "glorify God in bodies and spirits which are God's." (WEB 1 Corinthians 6:20, my paraphrase). Spiritual unity in Jesus Christ is the correct start for courtship which will lead a happy marriage. So "Do not be yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership do righteousness and lawlessness have? Or what fellowship does light have with darkness? What agreement can Christ have with Beliar? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever? What agreement can a temple of God have with idols? (WEB 2 Corinthians 6:15).
Father, we long for Thulun's future spouse but to be equally yoked in Jesus. When the time is right, we lead Thulun to choose a spouse they deeply love, and do not marry but give themselves to them without reservation based upon the relationship they both have with the one who made them in Jesus Christ." So, Thulun, we repeat: "We love Him because He loved us first." (WEB 1 John 4:19).
Thulun, we end with a set of scriptures for personal study and being obedient to your faith. Learning more about what Jesus said about marriage follow by reading WEB Matthew 5:27-32; WEB Matthew 19:3-12 and study the many verses available on marriage the other epistles. Marriage is well spoken of throughout the Word of God that Jesus Christ affirmed so that we believe we are living by our faith in belief that Jesus Christ is indeed the Son of God. We must maintain our faith remembering, "that without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He exists and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." (WEB Hebrews 11:6). Amen
