Let's begin by praying for Paisley and her parents.
Let us pray.
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Paisley and her parents. We know that the parents are a gift to the child as you have designed and desire to bless and instruct her by their actions. We ask God that you would bless Paisley's parents with the knowledge, love, and wisdom needed to fulfill their obligation to raise Paisley in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. We pray that you would bring peace to Paisley's home and heart, and that her parents would begin to treat her with the love, kindness, and respect that she deserves as their daughter and Your child. We rebuke the spirit of criticism and unkindness, especially since Paisley faces the additional challenges of depression. We pray for the healing of past hurts and misunderstandings, and that the love of Jesus would fill their home. We ask in Jesus' mighty name.
Now let us address the situation with biblical principles. First, it is clear that the relationship between Paisley and her parents is strained and harmful. We see in Ephesians 6:4, WEB: "You fathers, don't provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord." It is evident that Paisley's parents are not following this guidance, and instead, are provoking her to wrath and sadness.
We also see in Colossians 3:21, WEB: "Fathers, don't provoke your children, so that they won't be discouraged." Paisley's parents are not only provoking her but also causing her to be discouraged and depressed. This is not the will of God for any family.
Now, regarding the relationship between you and Paisley, we see that you care for her deeply, which is commendable. However, it is important to remember that you both should be focused on growing in your relationships with Christ and allowing Him to guide your lives and future. The goal should be to pursue a godly marriage if God leads you both in that direction. Also, be wary that relationships, girlfriend, and boyfriends are not the Christian standard.
We also need to address that the request did not mention Jesus Christ. It is only through the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it says in John 14:6, WEB: "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" Please make sure to honor Him in your requests.
Regarding Paisley's responsibilities, it is important to remember that while children should help with chores and contribute to the family, it should not be at the expense of their mental and emotional well-being. Galatians 6:2, WEB, tells us: "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." Paisley's parents should be supporting her and helping her to bear her burdens, not adding to them.
Finally, we encourage Paisley to remain strong in her faith and to trust in God during this difficult time. Psalm 34:18, WEB, says: "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." God is with her, and He will help her through this. We pray that God will bring healing and restoration to Paisley and her parents, and that they will begin to treat her with the love and kindness that she deserves.
We encourage you both to continue praying and seeking God's will for your lives. Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths.
