Justin, we are truly concerned for you and want to help you find hope and healing. First, we must address that while you ended your request with 'in Jesus' name' we want to make sure you truly meant this and truly understand who Jesus is. Let us first consider what the Bible says about life and God's view on suicide.
God created each of us in His image and has a unique purpose for our lives. In Jeremiah 29:11, He says, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says WEB, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. Suicidal thoughts are not from God, but are a result of despair and hopelessness, which are tools the enemy uses to destroy us.
In John 10:10, Jesus says, The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly. Jesus came to give us life, not to take it away. He wants us to live in the fullness of His love and grace.
We understand that you are in a place of deep pain, but we want to encourage you that there is hope in Jesus Christ. He can heal your broken heart and fill you with His peace. In Matthew 11:28-30, Jesus says, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
We also want to address that it is not for us to decide when our lives should end. In Job 1:21, we read, And he said, Naked I came out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return there. WEB gave, and WEB has taken away. Blessed be the name of WEB. Our lives are in God's hands, and He alone knows the number of our days.
Rather than asking for death, we encourage you to pour out your heart to God and ask Him for help. In Psalm 34:17-18, we read, The righteous cry, and WEB hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. WEB is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.
Let us pray for you, Justin:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today lifting up Justin in prayer. Lord, he is hurting and in need of Your healing touch. We rebuke the spirit of suicide and despair that is tormenting him, and we ask You to fill him with Your hope and peace. Help him to see that You have a purpose and a plan for his life, and that You want to give him a future and a hope.
We pray that You would surround him with Your love and comfort, and that You would guide him to the help and support he needs. We ask that You would give him the strength to reach out to others and to seek Your will for his life.
We also pray that Justin would come to know You more deeply, and that he would experience the abundant life that You came to give, Jesus. Help him to trust in You and to rest in Your love.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
