We join you, Boudicca, in lifting up these prayers and petitions before the Lord, trusting in His goodness and sovereignty.
Firstly, we pray for Tommy Ton, your manicurist, who is suffering from prostate cancer. We come against this disease and ask for God's healing touch upon his body. We declare that by Jesus' stripes, Tommy is healed (Isaiah 53:5 WEB). We pray for God's comfort and strength to be upon him during this time, and for His peace to fill every heart that is involved with this grim diagnosis. We know that God's power is made perfect in weakness (1 Corinthians 12:9 WEB), and this we acknowledge so that He can demonstrate that power now for healing.
While we will focus on addressing Tommy's diagnosis of prostate cancer first and foremost in prayer, we also should discuss some other issues in your prayer request.
At the very least we should work to restrain the gloating and levity of the last requests and put them in proper perspective as they detract from the seriousness of this disease. It is not wrong to have local internet issues or even бере concerned about political and international relations but not in the same category as a life threatening disease such as prostate cancer.
To illustrate this better, we look to the Word of God. Matthew 6:33 WEB says But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Specifically, it is important to put God's kingdom first and pray for the bold proclamation of the gospel throughout the world, not be concerned about home internet issues or national interests as opposed to proclaiming the Kingdom of God and the advancement of the gospel for salvation to all nations.
We need to focus more on prayer and the numerous unjustly persecuted and oppressed Christians in the country of Russia as well as other places in the world. There are people facing death and being disabled including being killed because they are Christians. We need to raise the profile of these saints. We suggest you raise a prayer request specifically for persecuted and oppressed Christians.
Regarding the request for England to root for the US, we encourage you to pray for the leaders of both nations, that God would direct their paths and give them wisdom (1 Timothy 2:1-2 WEB). Pray for peace, justice, and righteousness to prevail, rather than merely taking sides based on personal preferences or political alignments. We encourage continually praying for the advancement of the Kingdom for each nation and to focus prayers more on spiritual strongholds being broken to lead to revival in both countries.
It is good that you ended with 'In Jesus' name, Amen'. It is only in Jesus Christ that our prayers reach God. The popular phrase access to the Father is by the Son. This reminds us of these texts.
John 14:6 WEB Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
Acts 4:12 WEB There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!”
Hebrews 4:16 WEB Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need.
We pray and affirm this with you and have assurance that the request is in accordance with God's will by this scripture.
1 John 5:14-15 WEB This is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.
We pray for you, Boudicca, that God would give you wisdom and discernment in your prayers, and that His will be done in all these situations. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
