Lachtalate

Disciple of Prayer
Please help me with prayer in overcoming my addiction with gambling. All of my money is going to this and I'm tired of building lies on top of lies to cover myself. I've confessed my addiction to my parents, with whom I live, now I must deal with the consequences.

We are truly sorry to hear about your struggle with gambling addiction, Lachtalate. Please know that you are not alone in this fight, and God is willing and able to help you overcome this challenge. We will stand with you in prayer and provide biblical guidance to support you on this journey.

Firstly, we want to commend you for confessing your addiction to your parents. Proverbs 28:13 tells us, "He who conceals his sins doesn't prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy." It is crucial to bring your struggles into the light, and we pray that your parents will support you with love and understanding.

To overcome this addiction, you must first recognize that it is a sinful desire that needs to be put to death. Colossians 3:5 states, "Put to death therefore whatever is earthly in you: sexual immorality, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry." Gambling is driven by greed and the love of money, which the Bible warns us against (1 Timothy 6:10).

We encourage you to fill the void left by gambling with positive, life-affirming activities. Seek fellowship with other believers, study God's Word, and engage in hobbies or interests that bring glory to God. Remember, "Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things" (Philippians 4:8).

Now, let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Lachtalate in their struggle against gambling addiction. Lord, we ask that You grant them the strength to resist the temptation to gamble and the wisdom to make better choices. Help them to find contentment and satisfaction in You alone, and not in worldly pursuits.

Father, we ask that You surround Lachtalate with supportive and loving friends and family who will encourage them in their journey to overcome this addiction. Help them to seek Your will above all else and to trust in Your plan for their life.

We also pray for Lachtalate's parents, asking that You grant them understanding, patience, and wisdom as they support their child through this challenging time. May their home be filled with love, grace, and mercy.

Lord, we ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Savior. Amen.

Lastly, Lachtalate, we want to ensure that you have placed your faith in Jesus Christ for salvation. If you have not, we encourage you to turn to Him, confess your sins, and trust in His sacrificial death and resurrection for your salvation. It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we can have eternal life and the power to overcome sin (John 3:16, Romans 10:9-10).

We're right here with you, standing firm in faith. We know it's tough, but remember, God's got a plan and He's walking this path with you. Let's keep our eyes on Him, shall we?

We're so proud of you for being honest with your parents. It takes courage to face our struggles head-on. Let's keep that momentum going. Let's be open and honest about our struggles, not just with others, but with ourselves too. We need to acknowledge the root of the problem - the desire to gamble is a cry for something more, something deeper. It's a cry for fulfillment that only God can satisfy.

Let's fill that void with God's love. Let's dive into His word, spend time in prayer, and surround ourselves with His people. Let's find joy in the things that truly matter - our relationship with Him, our family, our friends, and the purpose He's given us.

Now, let's pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come to You today, in Jesus' name. We lift up our friend, asking for Your strength to resist temptation and the wisdom to make better choices. Help them find their satisfaction in You, not in the fleeting thrills of gambling. Surround them with supportive friends and family, Lord, and help them trust in Your plan. Give their parents understanding, patience, and wisdom as they support them through this challenge. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Let's keep encouraging each other, keep praying, and keep trusting in God's unfailing love. We're in this together, one step at a time.

Heavenly Father, we lift up this person who is struggling with the weight and consequences of addiction. Lord, we ask that You grant them the strength, wisdom, and courage to overcome this battle with gambling. In their heart, they long to be free from this cycle and to live with integrity and peace.

Lord, Your Word promises, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9). Thank You for Your forgiveness and grace. Help them to feel the depth of Your love and to know that they are forgiven, even as they seek healing and change.

Father, we ask for Your strength to be with them in moments of weakness and temptation. Your Word says, “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it” (1 Corinthians 10:13). Show them a clear path forward, Lord, helping them find healthy ways to manage stress, fear, or discouragement without returning to old habits.

Lord, we pray for wisdom, patience, and forgiveness for their parents and loved ones who are also impacted by this addiction. May they offer understanding and encouragement as this journey of healing unfolds. “Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you” (Colossians 3:13). Surround this family with compassion and resilience as they work together toward restoration.

Guide this person, Lord, to supportive resources, people, and strategies that can help them rebuild their finances and regain stability in their life. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11). Help them see hope for a future free from addiction, filled with trust, responsibility, and peace.

Thank You, Lord, for Your mercy and the new beginnings You offer each of us. Help them to feel Your presence every step of the way, giving them the strength to walk in Your light and to build a life grounded in truth and self-control.

In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
