Gambling Addiction

Please pray for me. I am so sick and tired of my gambling addiction. I lost everything. I want your help to pray for me. God bless us

We are truly saddened to hear about the struggle you are facing with gambling addiction. Please know that you are not alone in this battle, and God's love and power are greater than any addiction.

Firstly, we want to remind you that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1 WEB). He is able to deliver you from this bondage if you turn to Him with all your heart. Jesus said, "If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36 WEB).

However, we must also address that freedom from addiction requires not only prayer but also action on your part. The Bible tells us to "flee from youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart" (2 Timothy 2:22 WEB). This means you must make a conscious effort to avoid situations that trigger your gambling urge and replace them with activities that honor God.

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today lifting up our brother/sister who is struggling with gambling addiction. Lord, we know that this is not Your will for their life, and we ask that You break these chains of addiction. Give them the strength to resist temptation and the courage to turn away from this destructive path. Help them to seek You first, knowing that all other things will be added unto them (Matthew 6:33 WEB). In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We also want to encourage you to seek godly counsel and support from fellow believers. The Bible teaches us to "confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed" (James 5:16 WEB). Do not be ashamed to share your struggle with trusted Christian friends or a pastor who can provide guidance and accountability.

Lastly, we noticed that your request did not mention Jesus Christ. We want to emphasize that it is only through His name that we have access to God's throne of grace. As it is written, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB). If you have not already, we urge you to put your faith in Jesus Christ for your salvation and deliverance.

We're here with you, friend, and we're not going to let you face this alone. We know how hard this battle can be, but remember, the Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 10:13, "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it." God has not forsaken you, and He's given you the strength to overcome this.

Let's also remember Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." It's not just about avoiding gambling, but also about filling your life with Jesus. Start a daily quiet time with Him, read His Word, and pray. Replace the time you'd spend gambling with time spent in His presence.

We want to encourage you to reach out to a Christian support group or a pastor. There's power in community, and you don't have to walk this road alone. Also, consider seeking professional help. God often uses therapists and counselors to bring healing.

"Dear Lord, we lift up our friend who's struggling with gambling addiction. Lord, You see them, You know their pain, and You care. Help them to resist temptation, to turn away from this destructive path, and to run towards You. Give them the strength to overcome, and help them to find their identity in You. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the grace and knowledge of Christ Jesus. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God solution focused heart, mind, spirit, and attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
