Anonymous, we hear your desperate cry for help and we stand with you in prayer, believing that God can deliver you from this gambling addiction. We are encouraged that you have recognized your struggle, sought counseling, and turned to God in prayer. Remember, nothing is impossible with God (Luke 1:37, WEB).
Firstly, let us address your feelings of shame and disappointment. God's love and mercy are greater than any sin. As it is written, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9, WEB). Trust in God's forgiveness and allow His love to heal your heart.
It's crucial to understand that God wants to help you, but you must be willing to surrender this addiction to Him. Jesus said, "According to your faith be it done to you" (Matthew 9:29, WEB). Your faith and actions should align. This means you should avoid all temptations and triggers related to gambling.
We also want to address your anxiety and depression. God's word tells us, "Don’t be anxious for anything; but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7, WEB). Cast all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7, WEB).
Lastly, we believe that God can restore your finances as you continue to trust and obey Him. Remember, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28, WEB).
Let us pray together:
*Heavenly Father, we come before You, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is struggling with gambling addiction. Lord, we ask for Your forgiveness, mercy, and deliverance. Give them the strength to resist temptations and overcome this addiction. Comfort their heart, Lord, and take away their anxiety and depression. Restore their finances, Holy Father, so they can pay off their debt. Guide them continually, and may their faith in You grow stronger. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.*
We encourage you to keep praying and trusting in Jesus Christ. It's only by His name that we can be saved and receive eternal life (Acts 4:12, WEB). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and He will see you through this dark season.
