We understand that you are looking forward to meeting your future husband and attending deaf events to connect with others. It's wonderful to have a desire for community and companionship, and we want to help guide you from a biblical perspective.
Firstly, let's remember that God's plan for marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman who both are Christians already. It is more important to seek God's will and to be equally yoked with a believer in Christ than to merely find someone who shares similar interests or circumstances, such as attending deaf events.
As it is written in 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB:
"Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?"
We encourage you to pray specifically for a Godly spouse and focus on becoming the person God has called you to be.
It is important that future husbands or wives are sought through prayer, the bible, and fellowship with other Believers. This is because the desire of Christians should not be to satisfy worldly desires but to love and become more like Jesus, and to do what God has called them to do. Also, we are not to pursue the creation of the relationship ourselves, but to pursue the creator, and communicate with God who is the only one who knows who our spouse should be. Getting to know Jesus and becoming more like Him should be the goal of every Christian. Focus on becoming more like Jesus today. God can lead you to or send your future spouse, but the only way to God the Father is through Jesus Christ.
IJN stands for 'in Jesus Name.' When praying to God, we do not use IJN as God does not recognize those initials. Also, there is a lot more than just adding words to get prayers answered when talking to God the Father. Nor do we pray in the name of an angel, Mary, or a saint or any non-living being. There is only one mediator between God and man, Jesus Christ (Jesus). It is only by His name and our relationship with God through Him by which we can be saved or come to God the Father. This also means by praying, repenting, believing, and trusting in Jesus Christ for all things. The Bible says about Jesus in:
Acts 4:12 WEB
"There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
John 14:6 WEB
Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."
Romans 10:9 WEB
that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Lets pray.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up Anonymous in prayer. Lord, we ask that You guide her steps and direct her path. Help her to trust in Your timing and Your plan for her life, knowing that You have a perfect will for her.
Father, we pray that You would bring a Godly spouse into her life, someone who loves You and seeks to serve You. Help her to be patient and to focus on becoming more like Christ each day.
Lord, we also pray for the deaf events and the community that will gather next week. May Your presence be felt, and may Your love be shown through the interactions and connections made.
We ask all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who died on the cross at Calvary and rose from the dead to save all sinners like us who repent and believe in Jesus. We ask this believing.
Thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer.
In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to meditate on the following verses as you prepare for the deaf game day and continue to trust in God's plan for your life Psalm 37:4 WEB:
"Delight yourself also in Yahweh, And he will give you the desires of your heart."
Proverbs 3:5 WEB
"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, And don't lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him, And he will make your paths straight."
