Elodie, we are grateful for your desire to cultivate the fruits of the Spirit in your life. These are indeed beautiful qualities and will help you live a life that honors God. We are only able pray to God and receive these gifts through the name of Jesus. The scripture tells us in John 14:6 WEB Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12 WEB There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved.
Let's first look at the fruits of the Spirit as described in the Bible. In Galatians 5:22-23 WEB, the apostle Paul writes, But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
We notice that you've added chastity, modesty, and charity to the list. These are indeed important virtues, but they are not explicitly listed as fruits of the Spirit in the Bible. Chastity is a good virtue and is addressed in 1 Thessalonians 4:3-4 WEB For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to possess himself of his own vessel in sanctification and honor. Charity is addressed in 1 Corinthians 13:3 WEB. If I dole out all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but donโt have love, it profits me nothing. However, the Christian virtue of charity is deeply intertwined with love, which is a fruit of the Spirit. Modesty is a good virtue as well, and we can find its biblical basis in 1 Timothy 2:9-10 WEB. In the same way, I desire women to adorn themselves in decent clothing, with modesty and sound judgment; not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly clothing.
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up Elodie who desires to bear the fruits of the Spirit. We pray that Your Holy Spirit will fill her and manifest these godly qualities in her life. Grant her love that reflects Your divine nature, joy that transcends circumstances, peace that guards her heart and mind, patience that endures trials, kindness that blesses others, goodness that shines as a light, faithfulness that stands firm, gentleness that comforts, and self-control that guides her steps.
Lord, we also pray for chastity, modesty, and charity to be evident in her life. Help her to live a life that is pure, modest, and overflowing with love for others. May these virtues not be merely additions, but an outflow of the Spirit's work in her life.
Father, guide her in the path of righteousness and may Your will be done in her personal life and relationships. May her life be a testament to the transforming power of Your Spirit.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Elodie, continue to seek God with all your heart, and He will surely be found by you. Remember, it is by the name of Jesus only that we can be saved. Keep your faith firmly in Him.
