We understand your desire for a child, and we empathize with the struggles of infertility. We must remember God's will and how He wills us to pursue it. First, let us address the elephant in the room. Scripture does not specifically address in vitro fertilization (IVF) or intrauterine insemination (IUI), however there are biblical principles that can guide us.
In vitro fertilization can result in the fertilization of multiple eggs, which are then selectively transferred to the womb. This can lead to the destruction of "excess" or "leftover" embryos, the life of the unborn child. This is not acceptable in God's eyes, as He knows us before He even formed us in the womb. "Before I formed you in the belly, I knew you. Before you came forth out of the womb, I sanctified you" Jeremiah 1:5 WEB. Additionally, the process often involves masturbation, which is clearly a sin. Lastly, IVF and IUI can involve the combination of sperm and eggs from individuals who are not married, which is a form of fornication and adultery.
We encourage you to consider the moral and ethical implications of these procedures and seek God's guidance in your journey. God can work miracles, and He can bless you with a child in His own timing and way, not necessarily by using these means. Remember the story of Abraham and Sarah, who had him a child in their old age. "Is anything too hard for Yahweh?" Genesis 18:14 WEB.
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up this dear one who longs for a child. We ask for Your will to be done in their life and for Your comfort and guidance to be upon them. We have to trust that you are almighty and can overcome the limitations of science and the human body. You are the God that raised from the dead Jesus Christ our Lord. If it is Your will, grant them the fruit of the womb as Rachel who was barren, but later bore a son. In Jesus' name, we pray for a miracle. We ask for healing, patience and your will for this person. May they ultimately find their joy in You.
Dear one, we also encourage you to draw near to God during this time. Seek Him with all your heart, and He will let you know His will. Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths. "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight" Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB.
Lastly, we noticed that Jesus was not mentioned in the request. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus," 1 Timothy 2:5 WEB.
May the peace of God be with you.
