Disciple of Prayer
My friend has been on and off struggling with self harm for years and she has been doing good for the last few months until she found out her 6 month old niece has Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) and her growing anxiety that she might get fired from her job has been bothering her as well. She has been through so much hurt and trauma in the past and I'm really worried for her especially since we live in different states and I can't physically be there for her. Prayers would be really appreciated.

We are truly sorry to hear about your friend's struggles and the challenges she is facing.

Firstly, it is important to remember that our hope and refuge are in God, as it is written in Psalm 46:1, God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. We can approach Him with confidence, knowing that He hears our prayers and cares for our needs.

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up our dear friend who is struggling with self-harm and anxiety. Lord, You know her by name and You understand her pain and fears. We ask that You would surround her with Your healing presence and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding in Jesus Christ (Philippians 4:7).

Father, we ask that You would heal her niece of RSV and comfort the family during this time. We also pray for Your provision and favor over her job situation, that You would guide her steps and open the right doors for her in Jesus name.

Lord, we also pray for her complete healing and restoration. We know that You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We ask that You would help her to overcome her struggles with self-harm and give her the strength to resist the temptation to harm herself in Jesus name.

Father, we also pray for her salvation, that she would come to know You personally and experience the transforming power of Your love. We reject the work of the devil to steal, kill, and destroy her life with self harm. We know that You have a good plan and purpose for her life (Jeremiah 29:11), and we ask that You would reveal that to her and give her the hope and strength to keep moving forward in Jesus name.

We also pray for you, that God would give you wisdom and discernment as you support your friend from afar. We ask that He would guide your words and actions, and give you His peace and comfort as well in Jesus name.

We ask all of these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

It is important to remind your friend that she is valued and loved by God, and that He has a purpose for her life. Encourage her to seek God's will for her life and to trust in Him, even in the midst of her struggles in Jesus name.

We also encourage you to help her seek godly support system. A support system is a positive buffer to the trials of life such as this.

(1 Corinthians 15:33 Do not be deceived. "Bad company corrupts good morals.")

Also, remind her that bad company influences others to sin against God, attract demons, and need deliverance. Pray for the bad company in her life to be removed or given the choice to stay and follow God's principles. She can't keep following the wrong influences if she wants to overcome this issue.

(Ephesians 5:11 Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.)

It is important she work to expose the temptations and sin rather than hide them.

In addition, it is also important to encourage her and everyone to refrain from all sexual immorality and impurity. Christians must not go so far as to even mention such things (Ephesians 5:3).

Finally, your friend has mentioned nothing about believing in Jesus Christ's salvation message. We assume that she believes this message but needs encouragement.

(John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.)

(John 3:3 Jesus answered him, "Most certainly, I tell you, unless one is born anew, he can't see the Kingdom of God.")

(John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.)

(Acts 4:12 There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!)

Please continue to keep us updated on her progress so we can continue to pray for her and give her the counsel and support she needs.

We've been thinking about your friend a lot and wanted to share some more encouragement with you. We know it's tough when someone we care about is going through a hard time, especially when we can't be there physically. But remember, God is always with us, even when we feel alone. He's right there with her, every step of the way.

We've been praying for her to find comfort in God's unfailing love, that she would feel His presence in her darkest moments. We've also been asking God to heal her niece quickly and to give her peace amidst the anxiety she's feeling about her job. We trust that God has a plan, and we're believing for her breakthrough.

We want to encourage you to keep reminding her of her worth in God's eyes. She's a daughter of the King, and He loves her dearly. Encourage her to keep seeking Him, even when it's hard. And let her know that we're here for her, cheering her on every step of the way.

We've also been praying for God to reveal Himself to her in a powerful way. We believe that as she experiences His love and power, she'll find the strength she needs to overcome her struggles. We're claiming Psalm 147:3 over her, that God "heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."

Let's keep lifting her up in prayer, believing for her complete healing and restoration. And remember, we're here for you too. If you need someone to talk to or pray with, we're just a message away.

Keep fighting the good fight, friend. We're in this together.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray for your friend's mental health and healing. We are honored that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your friend has experienced relief and improvement, please share a praise report and let us all know. If your friend is still struggling and the request does not seem to have been fully answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue interceding for her in prayer.

We have been praying for your friend's peace and comfort, for her niece's complete recovery from RSV, and for your friend's job security. We have also been praying for you, that God would give you peace and wisdom on how to support your friend even from afar. We trust that God is working in her life and that He will bring healing and restoration.

Please know that we are here to support you both in prayer. May God bless you and your friend as you both continue to seek Him through His son, Jesus Christ. We are praying for your friend's mental health and healing, for her deliverance from self-harm, and for God's protection and comfort upon her life. We are also praying for God to help you trust in Him, even when you cannot be physically present with her.

We claim Gods promises in Jesus Name.
