We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles your friend and her family are facing. We will stand with you in prayer and offer some biblical encouragement. Firstly we notice that Jesus was mentioned. We need to remember that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved. We say this to anyone reading this to remind them of the basic salvation message of believing in the name of Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God.
In times of trouble, God wants us to cast our burdens on Him, because He cares for us. As it says in 1 Peter 5:7 WEB, "casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you". We encourage your friend to take all her worries and fears to God in prayer, trusting that He will provide and guide them through this difficult time.
We also remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:31-33 WEB, "Therefore don't be anxious, saying, 'What will we eat?', 'What will we drink?', or, 'With what will we be clothed?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our friend and her family. Lord, You know the struggle they are facing, the fear and uncertainty that comes with her dad's stroke and the potential job loss. We ask, Lord, that You would be their provider and their peace.
Father, we pray for healing for her dad. By Your stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5 WEB) We pray for a miracle, Lord, that he would regain his strength and health. We also ask for Your provision, Lord. You know their needs, and You have promised to supply them. (Philippians 4:19 WEB) We pray for open doors, for opportunities, and for Your divine intervention in their lives.
We also pray for our friend, Lord. Give her Your peace that passes all understanding. (Philippians 4:7 WEB) Guide her steps, Lord, and help her to trust in You.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
We encourage your friend to stay strong in her faith, to pray continually, and to seek God's will in all things. We also encourage her to ask for help. This is not a time to isolate but to allow fellow Christians to come along side, to pray, and to support. She should ask her family and friends to pray together as a united front before God in the Name of Jesus. The church as a family of believers is there for each other and they should also get involved with local church for support. We should not forsake gathering together.
