We are truly sorry to hear about the health struggles of Dawn's parents and your own parents. We will lift them up in prayer, seeking God's will and asking for His healing touch.
Firstly, it's important to remember that God's will is ultimately for our good, even if it doesn't align with our immediate desires. In Mark 14:36 WEB, Jesus Himself prayed, "Abba, Father, all things are possible to you. Please remove this cup from me. However, not what I desire, but what you desire." This should be our attitude in prayer as well.
In James 5:14-15 WEB, we are encouraged to pray for the sick: "Is any among you sick? He should call for the elders of the assembly, and they should pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up the parents of Dawn and Lerrys. We ask, Lord, that You would have mercy on them and heal them according to Your will. We pray against any illness, any infirmity, any sickness, and we command it to leave in the mighty name of Jesus.
Father, we also pray for Dawn and Lerrys, that You would strengthen their faith and give them peace during this time. Help them to trust in You and Your goodness, no matter the outcome.
Lord, we also acknowledge that eternal life is only available through Jesus Christ. It is by His name that we are saved and have access to You, Father. If anyone reading this does not know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior, we pray that they would come to know Him today.
We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Lastly, we want to address the desire for Dawn's parents and your own parents to "live forever." While we understand the sentiment, we want to remind you that our ultimate hope is not in endless earthly life, but in eternal life with God. Physical healing is temporary, but spiritual healing through faith in Jesus Christ leads to everlasting life. As it says in John 3:16 WEB, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life."
We encourage you both to put your trust in God and His promises. He is faithful and loves you more than you can imagine. He's the one in control, the one who created all living things, his good and perfect plan will be done in our lives. He's the one who is capable of healing, simply a man can't do such work or control his destiny or luck or circumstances alone.
