We are truly sorry to hear about the difficult situation you've been through with this individual. It's important to remember that the Bible teaches us to be wise in our relationships and to guard our hearts against deceit and manipulation. As it says in Proverbs 4:23, "Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life."
Firstly, we want to commend you for resisting manipulation and confronting the person about their behavior. It's crucial to stand up for what is right, even when it's difficult. As Ephesians 5:11 tells us, "Have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather reprove them."
You did the right thing by cutting off contact with this person, especially since they were exhibiting a repeated pattern of harmful behavior. Their actions, including calling your job, are not aligned with biblical principles of love, kindness, and respect. As it says in Galatians 5:15, "But if you bite and devour one another, be careful that you don't consume one another."
We understand that you may feel guilty for cutting off this relationship, but remember that it's important to protect your own well-being and safety. Guilt often comes from the enemy to make us second-guess our decisions, especially when we are trying to do what's right. The Bible tells us in 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control."
Let's pray together:
Dear Lord Jesus Christ, we come before You to lift up our brother/sister who is feeling guilty for cutting off a manipulative relationship. Lord, we ask that You take away this guilt and replace it with Your peace. Help them to trust in Your wisdom and to know that they did the right thing by protecting themselves. Please also be with the person who is causing this harm. Open their eyes to their behavior and bring conviction to their heart. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Continue to trust in the Lord and lean on His understanding. He will guide your path and give you the strength to endure. As Psalm 34:18 tells us, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Keep your focus on Jesus and His love for you.
