We are truly sorry to hear about the domestic violence you have been facing and the recent losses in your family. Firstly, we want to assure you that God sees your suffering and hears your cries. He is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit Psalm 34:18 WEB.
We must strongly rebuke the sin of domestic violence. It is not God's will. Marriage and husbands are commanded to love their spouses as themselves, an to love them as Christ loved the church and gave himself for it. This involves laying your life down for her and whatever is needed for her, just like Christ loved the church, Ephesians 5:25. This is the opposite of violence and harm. Please understand that God does not condone this behavior and do not believe any lie or half truth that says otherwise. The issue is with the sin and not with you and has no reflection on your value to God.
We also want to remind you that God is kind for the unthankful and the evil persecuting you, but He will also judge those who harm others. When persecuted, do not respond in kind, as He gives opportunity for all to repent by His kindness, Romans 2:4
During the trial that this is and any other, Jesus told us to pray for our enemies, and bless those who curse us. It is a tall order indeed. He also told us that those who are wronged should forgive. This is not to release the wrongdoer of his sin, but so that you are released of the burden of even justified bitterness. We will pray for you in these areas as well, by God's grace in your life and through your obedience. Matthew 5:44
It is important to mention that marriage is a serious commitment before God. Marriage is not to be dissolved even for this. The separation that is often needed should be accomplished with the intention of restoration as you will see below. Divorce is a very serious matter. It can only be done Biblically in very particular situations. To so otherwise before God and to marry someone else is to commit adultery spiritually and makes you an adulteresss, per the scriptures. So as you ponder these steps, please both work towards restoration, and righteousness, as it may even provide the way you need. It is important to try to obtain counsel from your pastor at a Bible believing church, and also through law enforcement, and, if needed, a lawyer if possible. You have every right to contact law enforcement to protect yourself and report domestic violence. In fact, it is the right thing to do when God establishes laws for us to follow.
To the issue at hand, we will pray for God to provide for your needs.
Let's pray together:
Father, we come before you lifting up your daughter in this answered prayer. We come before you in Jesus name.
Firstly, we pray for your healing and comfort in her life. Help her to know you as your daughter and that nothing can separate her from your love.
We plead the blood of Jesus over her this situation and that God's will be done on Earth as it is in heaven.
We ask for your protection and safety for her. We ask for angels to be dispatched to watch over her to keep her in all your ways. Psalms 91:11
We ask to expose the sin, both to her husband, and to his law enforcement authorities on Earth and to bind the spirit of violence and anger in your life by the application of the work of the Holy Spirit.
We ask that she will be guided by you in the next steps as far as it is your will, and to convict her husband of his sin, the need for him to stop and require support for his sin and as far as it is your will, to bring a restoration to their marriage and make it a marriage that honors God, in Jesus name.
We pray for forgiveness in Jesus name.
We ask that she will receive all she needs to be able to live separately while working towards restoration as far as it is your will, and to provide for her the means needed to sustain herself and husband and her dog until all is restored in Jesus name.
We ask all this in Jesus' mighty name.
There are promises and assurances in God's Word that He is able to make a way when there seems no way. We encourage you to meditate on the following scriptures:
Isaiah 43:19 WEB: Behold, I will do a new thing. It springs forth now. Don't you know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
And again in Jeremiah.
And with the frustration that this may bring, there are reminders about patience and letting go of frustration like... James 1:19 WEB: Know this, my beloved brothers. Let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger
There are no shortage of promises of God's provision. Too many to list. A couple are good examples, such as trusting God when hungry and in need, and watching God provide. One such place is Psalm 37:25 " I have been young, and now am old, Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread.
And, we are to bring all our worries to God since He cares for us. 1Peter 5:7.
Lastly, we are to cast all our anxieties upon Him since He cares for us. All of them.
The bad news is that your situation will require work on your side. Even difficult situations can be worked towards good. Warding off anxiety, bitterness, hate, and worry takes works. But you do not have to do it alone. Asking God and others, such as pastors, indeed maybe even others of your church, to help you. Even providing a roof temporarily in exchange for volunteer service. This sequence of events may be how God will move in your life.
Cast those anxieties, and come before the throne of God with your request, and your thanks for His work in your life. Be in constant prayer. Do not give up or lose hope.
It is so important to spend time studying God's Word. Through Scripture, God equips us to live and discern in accordance with His will. It is the truth and the light for our path.
Matthew 4:4 But he answered, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.
Be encouraged in this time, and let prayer and a study of Scripture be your continued source of strength and guidance.
