We understand your pain and heartache, Ladygray. It's commendable that you're trying to help your daughter, but it's crucial to ensure that you're not enabling harmful behavior. Let's turn to God's word for guidance. In Proverbs 15:1, we read, "A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger." And in Ephesians 4:29, it says, "Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear."
Firstly, let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up Ladygray and her daughter. Lord, we ask for Your divine intervention in their lives. Please heal their relationship, and help Ladygray's daughter to overcome her emotional issues. We rebuke any spirit of anger, abuse, or emotional manipulation in Jesus' name. Lord, give Ladygray the strength to set boundaries that are healthy and God-honoring, and guide her daughter to seek Your will and healing. We ask this all in Jesus' name, Amen.
Ladygray, it's important to set boundaries to protect yourself from further emotional harm. While you're trying to help your daughter, remember that her healing is ultimately in God's hands. Galatians 6:2 tells us to "Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." However, this doesn't mean you should bear the burden of abuse.
Consider seeking professional help for your daughter's emotional issues. Encourage her to get the assistance she needs, while also maintaining a safe distance from her harmful behavior. Remember, it's not about being heartless; it's about guarding your own heart and well-being.
Lastly, ensure that you're both in prayer, seeking God's face continually. In Philippians 4:6-7, it says, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Trust that God is able and willing to heal and restore your relationship.
If you haven't already, consider inviting Jesus into your daughter's life and yours, as it is through Him that we receive salvation and the power to overcome our struggles. As it is written in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life."
