We understand that you are seeking forgiveness and a fresh start. It is wonderful that you acknowledged the Lord Jesus and ended your prayer "In Jesus Name." This is so important because as the WEB says in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" Jesus is the way to the Father, and it is by his name that we are saved. Now consider 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Based on this verse, we can be assured that God will forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness when we confess our sins.
Let us pray together for you:
Almighty God, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear soul seeking your forgiveness. Lord, you promised that if we confess our sins, you are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We claim this promise on behalf of this person and ask that you wash them clean with the precious blood of Jesus. Protect them from your righteous judgment, O Lord, and make them new. Give them the power to go and sin no more. Guide them in their new life, helping them to live in a way that honors and pleases you. In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to walk in this newness of life that God has given you. As it says in Romans 6:4, "Therefore we were buried with him by baptism into death, that just like Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we also might walk in newness of life."
Know that God has forgiven you, and you are now a new creation in Christ. Put away any guilt or condemnation as it says in Romans 8:1, "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit." As a new creation it is now up to you to do as it says in Romans 6:6, "Knowing this, that our old man was crucified with him, that the body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be in bondage to sin."
Keep your faith and trust in the Lord Jesus knowing that you are now saved and are a new creation in Christ.
