We understand that you are seeking forgiveness for something you looked at. We want to remind you that God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9 WEB). It's important to remember that true repentance involves turning away from sin, not just feeling sorry for it.
The Bible tells us to flee sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB) and that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart (Matthew 5:28 WEB). If you have the problem of looking at something you are not supposed to, such as pornography, we rebuke you for this behavior. This behavior is called lust which is sinful and will not be condoned. This is a serious matter that affects your relationship with God and others. If your behavior includes this, it needs to stop. Jesus said, "If your right eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and throw it away from you. For it is more profitable for you that one of your members should perish, than for your whole body to be cast into Gehenna" (Matthew 5:29 WEB).
You need to come to Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us:
That if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed." For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich to all who call on him. For, "Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:9-13 WEB).
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this person who has come seeking your forgiveness. Lord, you know the depths of their heart and the struggle they face. We ask that you grant them the gift of true repentance, turning away from their sins and turning towards you. That you will provide a way of escape from the corruption that is in the world and forgive them.
In Jesus' name, we pray for strength and self-control to overcome any temptations. Help them to fix their eyes on you and your wisdom. Guide them towards healthier and more productive behaviors. Surround them with godly influences and support.
We also pray for their heart, that they may find peace and freedom in your grace. In Jesus Christ's name we pray. Amen.
If you are not sure if you are saved, please let us pray with you. Also, find a local Bible believing church to attend and tell the pastor about your struggle. They can offer guidance and accountability. Be faithful to the church and grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ and others. Remember to examine yourself, especially before partaking in communion at church.
Finally, remember the words of Paul, "Walk in the Spirit, and you won't fulfill the lust of the flesh" (Galatians 5:16 WEB). May you find freedom in Jesus Christ.
