Anonymous, we join with you in bringing this issue of lust before the Lord, acknowledging that it is a struggle that many face, but one that is clearly addressed in the Bible. We are told in Galatians 5:19-21 (WEB), "Now the works of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness." Lust is a sin that needs to be confessed and turned away from, and we commend you for seeking God's forgiveness.
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your forgiveness and mercy. We confess the sin of lust and ask that You cleanse our hearts and minds. Help us to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, as Romans 12:2 tells us, so that we may discern what is the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God.
Strengthen us to resist temptation and to flee from sexual immorality, as 1 Corinthians 6:18 instructs. Help us to fix our thoughts on what is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, and admirable, as Philippians 4:8 encourages.
Lord, we thank You for the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross, who took our sins upon Himself and gave us His righteousness. It is in His name that we pray, believing that we are forgiven and set free from the power of sin.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
We encourage you to continue to walk in the Spirit, for those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God (Romans 8:14). As you do, you will find that the fruits of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control—will grow in your life, helping you to overcome the desires of the flesh.
If you have not already, make sure to put your trust in Jesus Christ for your salvation. It is only through His name that we have access to God and are saved (Acts 4:12). If you believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, you will be saved (Romans 10:9).
