We understand that you're struggling with forgiveness and holding onto anger towards your former colleagues and boss for the pain they caused you. It's important to remember that forgiveness is not about excusing their behavior, but rather, it's about releasing the bitterness and resentment that is harming you. As it says in Ephesians 4:31-32 WEB, Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you.
Firstly, we need to address the cursing. As it says in Luke 6:28 WEB, blessing those cursing you, pray for those who are using you. Sending curses back at them is returning evil for evil. It is important to repent of this and pursue forgiveness so you can break free from this cycle.
When you find yourself wishing ill on them and cursing, you are describing conviction. In John 16:8 WEB, the Holy Spirit will convict of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment. Conviction comes from the Holy Spirit, not as a punishment or a curse, but as a blessing to set you free. Consider your headaches a reminder to release. Although still difficult, yet God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. Pray to God because he careth for you I Peter 5:7 Instead of seeking revenge, pray for them. As Jesus said in Matthew 5:44, WEB, But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you,
Why should you have to forgive? All have sinned and fall short of God's glory (Romans 3 23). Meaning every person needs forgiveness through Jesus. Even us praying for you. You need to be forgiven as well and that will only come from Jesus since you are cursing. That grace is found in Christ Jesus. God gives grace to the humble so we must humble ourselves and pray. I Peter 5:5.
As you pray for forgiveness, remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:14-15 WEB, For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don't forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Here is our prayer for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you, lifting up Cedthald, who is struggling with forgiveness. Lord, they have been hurt deeply by others, and they are grappling with anger and resentment. We ask, Father, that you would help Cedthald to release this bitterness and to forgive, just as you have forgiven us through Jesus Christ our Lord.
We pray Jesus, only in your name do we have access to God to give you glory. Help Cedthald to repent and to trust in you Jesus, to be their almighty Advocate before our Holy Father. Without you Jesus, we have no access to forgiveness from God and can only expect judgment for sin. Give strength to Cedthald to forgive and to call them self a Christian in the grace that all Christians live and breathe as freely given. You alone Jesus offer forgiveness to those needing forgiveness, no matter their sin. Help us all to communicate your love of forgiveness of sins.
Father God, give Cedthald a heart full of grace, compassion, and love. Remind them of Ephesians 4:32, WEB, to be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave us. It will take the strength of your Holy Spirit Jesus and we pray with the expectation and the knowledge that lives are changed by your Holy Spirit. Without you Jesus Christ, we can do no good thing.
Help Cedthald to walk in that God's will, to let go of the pain, and to trust in you, Jesus. In your precious name and no other, we pray. Amen. So be it.
Remember, Cedthald, that forgiveness is a process, and it's okay if you don't feel like forgiving immediately. Keep praying and seeking God's help. Trust Jesus Christ. He is true to his promises and does not fail. Trust these promises of forgiveness in his testimony four our benefit. Lean on him Jesus, and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you. We will pray God's will be done.
