Please join me in praying for my daughter to make the team she wants to be on. I am worried her self-confidence cannot take anymore rejection. Please wrap her in your warm thoughts and prayers. Thank you for taking the time.

We understand your concern for your daughter and we will join you in prayer, trusting in God's goodness and purpose for her life.

First, let us remember the words of the Apostle Paul in Philippians 4:6-7 (WEB): "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."

Before we proceed in prayer, we must acknowledge that God's will is paramount. While we may desire certain outcomes, we must ultimately trust that God's plan is perfect and for our good, even when it differs from ours. We must also ensure that our prayers are made in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6, Ephesians 2:18).

Let us pray:

"Lord Jesus, we come before You, lifting up our ### in prayer. We ask that You will be with her as she tries out for the volleyball team. Lord, give her the strength, the skill, and the confidence she needs, knowing that all things are possible through You. But more than anything, we pray that Your will be done in her life. Help her to trust in You, no matter the outcome.

If it is Your will for her to make the team, we thank You in advance. But if it is not, we ask that You will help her to understand that her worth is not defined by her achievements, but by her identity as Your beloved child. Help her to grow in resilience and faith through this experience.

Finally, we pray that You will guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus, giving her Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help us, as her parents, to guide her in Your ways and to trust in Your goodness. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen."

In regards to your daughter's self-confidence, remind her of her true identity in Christ. She is loved, valued, and accepted by God (Romans 8:38-39, Ephesians 1:4-5). Earthly achievements pale in comparison to this eternal truth. Encourage her to trust in God's plan and to persevere, knowing that her trials today may be shaping her for tomorrow's victories (Romans 5:3-4).
