We rejoice in your desire to seek salvation, for it is the most important decision you will ever make. You have taken the first step by looking to the Word of God for guidance. As it is written in Romans 10:9-10, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."
First, let us address the importance of confessing and believing in Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we can be saved, for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. The Bible tells us the living saving way to the Father in Jesus Christ in John Chapter 14 Verses 6 and 7. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
Salvation is not merely about intellectual assent or silent belief; it requires a public confession of our faith in Jesus Christ. This confession is a declaration of our allegiance to Him, acknowledging His lordship over our lives. It is also important to turn from your sins, for the Bible tells us in Acts 3:19, "Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord."
We encourage you to read and study the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, beginning with the Gospel of John. As you delve into these accounts of Jesus' life, ministry, death, and resurrection, allow the Holy Spirit to guide you and reveal the truth of His Word to you.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, thanking You for the seeker who desires to know You more. Open their heart and mind to receive the truth of Your Word. Grant them the courage to confess their sins and turn from them, and to publicly profess their faith in Jesus Christ. Guide them as they study Your Word, and fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in newness of life. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
As you embark on this journey of faith, remember that you are not alone. We are here to support and pray for you, and the Holy Spirit is your constant guide and comforter. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight as it says in Proverbs 3:5-6.
