We rejoice in your desire to seek salvation, as it is the most important decision anyone can make. You have taken the first step by looking to the Word of God for guidance. As you have shared, Romans 10:9-10 states, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved."
This is the foundation of our faith—believing in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. It is through His name alone that we have access to God, and it is only by His name, that we are saved. As it says in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."
Confessing and turning from your sins is an essential part of this process. This is what is called repentance. Acts 3:19 says, "Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord." True faith involves a commitment to follow and obey Jesus, aligning our lives with His teachings.
We encourage you to delve deeper into the Gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—to learn more about Jesus' life, teachings, and the sacrifice He made for us. Starting with the Book of John is a wonderful idea, as it beautifully presents Jesus as the Son of God and the path to eternal life. John 20:31 states, "but these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You with a heart full of gratitude for the seeker who desires to know You more. We pray that You would open their heart and mind to the truth of Your Word. Help them to confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart that You raised Him from the dead. Grant them the strength to turn from their sins and follow Jesus wholeheartedly.
Guide them as they read and study the Gospels, revealing to them the depth of Your love and the sacrifice Jesus made for us. We ask that You would draw them closer to You, that they may experience the joy and peace that comes from a life lived in obedience to Your will.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
As you continue on this journey, remember that God's love for you is unfailing and His grace is sufficient. Stay rooted in His Word, and let His Spirit guide you every step of the way.
