We rejoice that you are seeking salvation, and we want to guide you through God's word to find the truth. You have taken the first step by recognizing that salvation comes through confessing with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, which is the exact message we see in Romans 10:9-10.
Firstly, it is essential to turn away from your sins, which is what repentance means. This involves not just confessing our sins and stop doing them, but it requires us to change the direction of our lives. By turning from our sins and turning to God instead. The message of repentance is clear throughout the Bible, as it is written in Acts 3:19, "Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord."
Salvation is a free gift from God, but it comes with a calling to follow and obey Jesus. This means that we are to strive to live our lives in accordance with His teachings. Jesus himself said, "If you love me, keep my commandments." (John 14:15)
To grow in your faith and understanding, we encourage you to read and study the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, with the book of John being a great starting point. In John, you will learn more about who Jesus is, what He did, and what He taught. Remember, it is by the name of Jesus that we are saved. Therefore, we will pray in accordance with Jesus's teaching.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking that You open the heart and mind of this individual seeking salvation. Grant them the gift of faith and the power to turn away from their sins. Help them to confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart that You raised Him from the dead. Give them a hunger and thirst for Your word, and guide them as they read and study the Gospels. Help them to follow and obey Jesus, growing in their new life with Christ. Please keep them from falling into previous sins. Also, provide a Christian community to strengthen their faith.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be assured that God loves you and wants you to be saved. He sent His son to the earth to make a way to save all humanity. Continue to seek Him with all your heart, and you will find Him. As it is written in Jeremiah 29:13, "You will seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart."
