We rejoice in your interest in salvation and your willingness to seek God. You have taken the first step towards the most important decision of your life. Let us guide you through the scriptures and pray together.
First, it is wonderful that Romans 10:9-10 was shared: "because if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation." This is the core of salvation: believing in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, confessing this faith, and turning from our sins is essential.
As with the scripture shared, Salvation is not merely an intellectual exercise but a matter of the heart and a public declaration. It involves a genuine change of heart, repentance from sins, and a commitment to follow Jesus. As Jesus himself said, "Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand" Matthew 4:17 WEB.
Studying the Gospels Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John is a great start. Beginning with the book of John is especially encouraging, as it clearly presents Jesus as the Son of God and the Savior of the world. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me".
As we look through the scriptures, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, acknowledging that He is the only way to salvation. We confess that we are sinners in need of Your grace and mercy. We believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins and rose again on the third day, conquering death and sin. We confess that Jesus Christ is right now seated at your right hand and is our Lord, Master, and Savior. We turn from our sinful and disobedient lives, and we commit ourselves to follow and obey Jesus Christ as Lord. Thank You for Your forgiveness and the gift of eternal life. Guide us as we study Your Word and help us to grow in our faith and love for You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
As we study the Word of God, we should continue to pray for guidance and understanding of the Scriptures. It is only by this that we can grow in our faith and become obedient disciples of Jesus Christ.
