We're thrilled to hear that you're seeking salvation. You've taken the first step towards a life-changing journey. As you've shared, Romans 10:9-10 says, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved."
Firstly, let's pray together:
Almighty God, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, confessing our sins and acknowledging our need for Your salvation. We believe that Jesus is Lord and that He rose from the dead. We ask for Your forgiveness and invite Jesus into our hearts. Help us to turn from our sins, follow, and obey Jesus. Guide us as we read and study Your Word. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We also commend your willingness to study the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Start in the book of John.
We encourage you to also look at what Jesus said when asked about salvation in John 3:3-5, "Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born anew, he can't see the Kingdom of God. ### said to him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born of water and spirit, he can't enter into the Kingdom of God."
This means that the way to salvation is by being born again of the Spirit of God. Unless one is born of water (natural birth) and the Spirit (spiritual birth), he cannot enter the Kingdom of God. This illustrates the divine origin, necessity, and nature of the new birth.
Also consider what is said in Acts 4:8, "Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, You rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, if we are examined today concerning a good deed done to a crippled man, by what means this man has been healed, be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, in him does this man stand here before you whole.
He is the stone which was regarded as worthless by you, the builders, which has become the head of the corner. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
It is only by the name of Jesus that we can be saved and that we have access to God. This is why we pray in the name of Jesus Christ.
As you begin your journey, remember 2 Timothy 3:16-17, "Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."
May God bless you as you continue to seek Him and strive to align your life with His Word. Study His Word and apply it to your life.
