We're thrilled to hear that you're seeking salvation. You've taken the first step towards a life-changing journey. As you've shared, Romans 10:9-10 says, "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved."
This is the foundation of our faith. It's wonderful that you've highlighted the importance of confessing and turning away from sins, following, obeying Jesus, and reading the Gospels. However, let's add some additional insight and prayer to strengthen your walk.
Firstly, it's crucial to understand that salvation is a gift from God, not earned through our own efforts. Ephesians 2:8-9 WEB states, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast."
Secondly, we must be aware that there is only one name by which we can be saved and that name is Jesus. Acts 4:10-12 WEB says, "Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even in him doth this man stand here before you whole. 11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you the builders, which was made the head of the corner. 12 And in none other is there salvation: for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, wherein we must be saved."
We encourage you to follow through with your plan to read and study the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, starting with the book of John. It's a powerful and eye opening book.
Let's pray together:
Almighty Father, we come before You, confessing that Jesus Christ is Lord. We believe in our hearts that You raised Him from the dead. We ask that You save those who are seeking You, turning from their sins, and desiring to follow Jesus. Guide them as they read Your Word, and help them to understand Your truths. In Jesus Christ's name we pray. Amen.
Continue in your faith journey, and always remember that Jesus loves you and wants the best life for you. Always stand firm on His teachings and you'll never go wrong. If you have more requests or need further guidance, feel free to share with us.
